Robin Uthappa cracked his 17th first-class century, which formed the centerpiece of Karnataka’s 302 for 2 in their quarter-final against Assam in Indore. Lokesh Rahul also prospered, but missed out on a ton of of his own by nine runs.Uthappa’s knock was punctuated by 21 fours and a six, while Rahul stroked 14 fours. The 194-run opening partnership ended when Abu Nechim bowled Rahul in the 55th over. Uthappa, though, carried on to make 153 off 226 balls before he offered a return catch to Syed Mohammad. Another stand began to flourish, this time between Ravikumar Samarath and Manish Pandey as Karnataka dominated Assam.Swarupam Purkayastha, the offspinner, failed to add to his 36 wickets this season.
