Everton centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori played 45 minutes for the club’s Under-23 side against Arsenal Under-23s on Monday night.
The Argentine international has not played for Everton’s first team this season due to a knee problem, which has kept him on the sidelines for 10 months.
Funes Mori took a big step towards making himself available for Sam Allardyce, however, as he completed 45 minutes in the 4-0 defeat at Arsenal.
The 26-year-old joined Everton from River Plate in the summer of 2015, and he has made 63 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions.
The Everton fans are delighted to see the defender back in action, which is not a surprise when considering the team’s problems at the back this season.
Indeed, the Merseyside outfit shipped five at Arsenal last time out, and have hit another poor run of form – winning just one of their last nine matches in all competitions.
