As reported by Tuttosport, Chelsea have recently lodged a bid with Juventus for striker Gonzalo Higuain. The outlet reports that the £88m was rejected out of hand by the Italian club.
The Blues’ attempts to sign strikers this summer hasn’t exactly been successful so far after they also missed out on Romelu Lukaku after he made the switch from Everton to Manchester United.
With Diego Costa’s future up in the air, Antonio Conte badly needs an elite striker to come into the club and hit the ground running. If they don’t get the right man in, they could struggle to retain their English Premier League title.
Is Higuain the kind of player they need? He certainly knows his way to goal but there are doubts about his long-term potential and there’s perhaps better value out there for the Stamford Bridge side.
The bid for the UEFA Champions Finalist hasn’t gone down well with supporters, who took to Twitter to share their reservations about the potential deal…
