Daniel Riolo, a columnist for French publication After Foot, says De Zerbi's management of forward Greenwood "isn't working" after benching him on a couple of occasions and questioning his attitude and application. He added that the ex-Manchester United man "isn't coming back" after a slump in form following Marseille's 3-1 loss to Reims on Saturday.

He said on After Foot: "You play Reims who don't beat anyone… You lose 1-0 because you're robbed, but here, no, you conceded three and that follows a very bad run. Greenwood isn't coming back, he's no longer there. De Zerbi's management with Greenwood isn't working."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Marseille were Paris Saint-Germain's closest title challengers in Ligue 1 but now they have slipped to third and the chasing pack are closing in on De Zerbi's team. The French giants don't tend to hang about with managers if results aren't going well so the Italian will need to find some wins from somewhere and fast – or else risk losing his job. Greenwood has arguably been Marseille's best player this season, so if they want to keep him, they may need to tread carefully.
