Named among the substitutes to start the match due to her recent matches with the U.S., Mrogan entered Friday's NWSL Challenge Cup against Gotham FC in the second half. She ended up being the match-winner, too, scoring a crucial goal to start the season off with a bang.
With just minutes remaining, Morgan scored a header in the 88th minute, getting to Savannah McCaskill's corner kick to give her side the only goal they'd need to lift the trophy.

Morgan continues to surge toward the Olympics as she competes for a spot in the USWNT squad this summer. Her chances looked all but over after being initially left off the Gold Cup squad, but an injury to Mia Fischel opened the door for her return.
She scored twice during the tournament while helping spearhead the U.S. attack, playing herself right back into the mix. A strong start to the NWSL season would strengthen her case even more as she pushes to be a part of Emma Hayes' squad this summer.
